 Television is the most popular form of entertainment in the American household. 
People of all ages use this medium to entertain themselves for an average (trung bình) 
of four hours a day. Thus (do đó), television has had a tremendous (to lớn) influence 
on its viewers, especially children. Scientists now say that children can be adversely

 Last summer, Lan invited Marry- a friend from England to her home village in 
Do Son. The village lies near the sea. They stayed at Lan’s uncle’s house. Every 
morning, they got up very early and walked along the shore in order to enjoy the fresh 
air. When the sun was warm enough, they went swimming then they laid down on the 
sand and took the sunbath. There were a lot of people who came there to spend their 
holidays. When they were thirsty, they went to a small restaurant near the beach to buy 
some fresh coconuts to drink. 
 At lunch and dinner time, Lan’s uncle cooked a lot of sea food for them. The 
food was fresh and really delicious. Mary enjoyed the food very much.
