* Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn, diễn tả sự than phiền, phàn nàn: S + is/are/am + always + V-ing.
Ex: Lan is always forgetting her pen in class.
* Thì quá khứ tiếp diễn: KĐ: S + was/were + V-ing
 PĐ: S + wasn’t / weren’t + Ving
 NV: Was/ Were + S + V-ing?
Cách dùng: 
1. Diễn tả hành động đang xảy ra ở một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ: at 5 o’clock / at this 
time/ at that time / all morning yesterday, last night.
Ex: I ..TV at 7 o’clock yesterday. (watch)
2. Diễn tả một hành động đang diễn ra thì hành động khác cắt ngang. Hành động động đang diễn 
ra t a dùng quá khứ tiếp diễn, hành động cắt ngang ta dùng quá khứ đơn. (DHNB: when (khi, 
thì), while (trong khi)
Ex: When I.(watch)TV at home, he .(come)
3. Diễn tả hai hành động đang xảy ra cùng lúc trong quá khứ. (DHNB: while (trong khi)
Ex: While I (watch) TV, my mother ..(cook)
1. The doorbell .(ring) while Tom television. (watch)

3. The light (go) out while we ..(have) dinner.
